Grammy Night

Tonight the Grammy Awards settle down upon us. Dubbed as music's greatest night there will be performances, awards, cheers and tears, and most of all there will be commercials- not as great or underwhelming as the Super Bowls. 

Who could forget the KIA baby astronaut commercial or the Doritos Pretty Pretty Princess dress up dad. Tonight we will just be getting regular commercials.

Tonight's Grammys should be a dud of a show. Nothing could happen to even come close in comparison to last year's show. There was the death of Whitney Houston and Adele taking home every Grammy nomination. This year we have nothing. Out of all the nominees there is no one I am specifically routing for. There will especially be no award surprises. There is no clear winner who might just be snubbed by a less deserving performer.

That's my reasoning for why CBS has placed a dress code. Maybe some of it might be because it's live and there's no time to blur an unexposed boob. By putting censorship in place it gives the audience something to tweet about. When Rihanna walks in with a low cut dress or when Ms. Cyrus walks in again with a side boob exposed  that's going to be trending on twitter. Everyone loves when someone breaks the rules. It makes for good trending gossip.

The second biggest thing going on with tonight's Grammys is L.L. Cool J himself. That man does not age, and those lips. Besides being on that CBS sitcom I can't remember the last thing he did as a music artist, but I still remember him when I was a kid. 

It's a shame he has to wear clothes as a host, this look would definitely get more viewers, and I know I would for sure live tweet this. He also has a workout video, for all you ladies who want to curl up on the couch with a glass of wine and just watch.

Start watching at 1 min. that's when his shirt comes off.

What's great about the Grammys is the invention of YouTube. If you don't know a song just look it up and there it is. You can listen to the whole album and you know who you're rooting for. Unlike with the Academy Awards. If you didn't see it in the theater and it's not out on DVD yet your only option is watching a bootleg downloaded movie on your computer, that's harmful to the health of your  baby.

It's a known fast that Taylor Swift wins everything. Both Fun and Gotye came out nowhere with both of those songs. Glee did have somethng to do with the songs rise so maybe Glee deserves the Grammy.

I love how this whole category is filled with just women. That makes it so much harder to choose. I love Adele but I pledged allegiance to Kelly when I was a young teen. Katy spoke to me and put words perfectly to a feeling. I spent months singing to Call Me, Maybe. As for Rihanna she's on my bad list- anything related to Chris Brown is a thumbs down.
